A LONG OVERDUE UPDATE....

....because of work. After spending 30 minutes of work-related musings daily while driving on my way to work at EPCIB last month, I made the decision to accept the Foreign-SPV offer to work with them on the P5.5B NPL that they bought from my Bank. My last day with EPCIB was full of parting words from my colleagues such as "see you when I join your company next year!" or "come back to the Bank after your stint is over and we're Banco de Oro already!" or "next time we hear from you, you're in Singapore na".., stuff like that. I didn't really feel at all sentimental that day. I guess, after thinking too much about career moves, I got so eager to leave that I couldn't wait. Haha! Bad, ba?

Now, I'm based at the Madrigal Business Park in Ayala, Alabang. I loooooovvvvvve the wide open spaces...free of traffic and pollution. And Alabang is just a breeze from ParaƱaque where I live. There's no color coding for me anymore as I go through BF Homes subdivision to get to ALabang, eliminating toll fees and traffic in the Filinvest Exit.

However, I'm already missing my friends back in Makati. The leaves of my Bamboo plant that I took with me to Alabang, is turning yellow no matter how much water and sunshine it gets from my window. I guess it also misses its bamboo friends in the Bank. See, almost all of us at Remedial had Bamboo plants in our cubicles. Hehe, cute namin. we're so bonded.

The first week with CGAM entailed a lot of phonecalls to Borrowers who've never heard of the SPV law and my mouth would get tired from explaining what we were all about. Others didn't bother to talk. Persistence was what I had that got me 2 Borrower meetings only last Thursday and they said that it was only because I had a nice voice and they were curious to meet me. Harhar!! I told them they still had to hear the Australian drawl of my Bosses. Anyway, the meetings went pretty well and I felt good about setting a good pace for everyone with respect to the new relationship between the SPV and our Borrowers.

Will be heading off to Sagay this Monday, August 29 to visit Sagay Central then off to Cebu on Tuesday to meet up with some Borrowers there. Its going to be pretty busy for the coming months so I could be posting less but when I get a photo opportunity, I'll be sure to blog it here.

Wish me luck in my new job, guys. There's a lot of work to be done but also a lot of things to learn. As my new bosses would say, "Cheers, mate!" See you guys soon.
