It is just so fantastically SUNNY out today that I'm like a caged tiger going around and around our small office looking out the window, wishing to be outdoors taking photos, instead of being here in an air-conditioned room, shivering. Its so clear out that I can see the building structures pass the fish pens off Laguna de Bay onto the next island! However, 30minutes away in Makati, my boss says that its raining. Good that I'm not in Makati. Hehe!!
I got to watch Dubai with my mom at SM in Sucat last Sunday. My overall rating is 6/10. In a nutshell, the story is about 2 brothers (Aga Mulach and John Lloyd Cruz) who dreamed of going to Canada for a better future. For some reason, Aga instead ended up in Dubai, working in a freight service company. John Lloyd followed him to Dubai, as a stepping stone to their Canada dream. They both had the hots for the same woman, played by Claudine Barreto, who is in love with Aga but got pregnant with John Lloyd's baby because Aga wasn't ready for a commitment. Oh, di ba!!
Anyway, John Lloyd became upset with Aga because he felt betrayed that Aga didn't want to pursue their Canada dream anymore and more so because of his feelings for Claudine. John then got hit by a truck while driving his taxi and as Filipino stories are wont to do, ended up making peace with Aga, while all bruised up in his hospital bed. The movie ended with them playing along the beach with John Lloyd all set to leave for Canada with Aga deciding to stay in Dubai for good. Where was Claudine all this time? She decided to return to the Philippines to have John Lloyd's baby and to forget her Dubai experience. And get this, when she arrived in Manila, she told her driver to stop in front of the Rizal Monument in Luneta. Somehow, that scene must have intended to elicit some tug of nationalism from the viewers, but sorry, I found it baduy.
The movie's pueda na. Some scenes drag and Aga has a lot of pro-longed monologues. John Lloyd however, is cute. Si Aga admittedly is still cute but I have never been attracted to Aga even during his Bagets days. Believe me, I would much rather watch Chow Yun Fat (my kinda guy!) as Li Mu Bai in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon anyday than watch Dubai again. But in fairness to Claudine, I did enjoy Milan.
I got a Siamese Cat already and his name is Pitchet (japanese for 'civilized'). He has dark brown ears, paws and tail. His body fur is light brown mixed with white. Mukha siyang Mocha Java fix. I got him when he was 2 months old and during that time, refused to be touched. Now at 3 months, he enjoys getting his face nuzzled and likes to sit on my lap and purr. My dad bought him a little plastic ball that makes this ta-ka-tak-ka-tak noise when its rolling and Pitchet enjoys running after it. Cute. =) Just watching him running after the ball and pushing it with his paws is a stress reliever.
I ran into some legal and marketing terminology over the past 2 days. Here they are:
1) Injunction Bond (courtesy of Atty J.D.)
2) Notice of Appeal Ex-Abundante Ad Cautelam (courtesy of Atty P.Y.)
3) Caveat Emptor (courtesy of Alejandro del Castillo a.k.a Sir F.Q.)

More on this in my next post. Back to work. =)
