BEFORE THE STORM

I finally got around to uploading pictures from my Digital Camera to the PC so I'd like to post some photos taken of me and my friends last November 28, 2004 at Sonya's Garden in Tagaytay. The sun dawned bright that Sunday morning as we headed South of Manila. Good food, good company, a perfect day to spend the long weekend. Little did we know that a tropical depression was headed for the country. All I knew was that when I woke up the following day, Monday, it was raining and it continued to rain for the remainder of the day. It was Tuesday when I learned about the devastation that the floodwaters caused by the rains (Typhoon Winnie) brought to Infanta, Quezon and nearby provinces. Countless were homeless, nearly 1,000 people dead or missing, nearly a billion worth of crops destroyed. PAGASA never issued a storm signal warning. 3 days after, on December 2, 2004, Typhoon Yoyong made its presence felt.

I haven't had that honest to goodness feeling of Christmas for some time. These tragedy added to my "un-Christmassy" feeling.
